Steven, I (we!) are so genuinely thankful for your involvement in Jessica's intervention. Your insight and approach made all the difference in the world, not only in the immediate outcome but long-term as well. She has been positioned to surrender to the detox process and make a commitment to the task of recovery knowing that she has the love and support of her friends and family.
The last update was this afternoon. J talked with her and she, so far, is tolerating the detox well. It has, of course, only been 24 hours or so.
Once again, thank you for blessing our family. |

For those who were not here today, Steven Lodge was a remarkable Godsend of an interventionist. Steve was straight forward with us, and lovingly firm with us and Victor.
Steven will act as the liaison for our family and Victor, providing periodic updates as to his treatment progress. The easy part is over and now our family needs a breather. The second part of the journey is reassuring Victor to stay in treatment for however long it takes, while emphasizing how proud we are of him for making a great decision.
In closing, I think it is important not to dwell on the past difficulties we have had with Victor as he battled his disease. As Steven reiterated in his meetings with us, there is absolutely no room in our recovery process for finger pointing. Rehab is gift of life. God gave us his grace today and He will continue to do so for as long as we ask for it. |

I just wanted to send you a quick note and let you know how thankful our family is for the work you did with our son. I never thought we would ever see him actually make it to treatment.
We understand that treatment is only the first step along a difficult path, but we are so happy that he's made it this far.
You are an angel and I will keep you in my prayers. |

Dear Steve, I must tell you that we feel fortunate (and blessed!) to have you injected into this process. We have been wrestling with this issue for too long and your guidance has already helped us toward a positive outcome, not to mention the lessening of our anxiety. Thank you again for all your help.

Steve, we appreciate your proactive manner and sensitivity to the process. From the outset, it was extremely important to our family that we find the right mix of sensitivity, persuasiveness and empathy for our daughter. We found all of the above in the way you performed the intervention.
I concur that the biggest block Kelly faces is her fear of detox. We will, as you suggested, be supportive and follow through with whatever Oasis asks us to do. |

Steve, I wanted to give you an update on our brother Matthew (April 2007 client). He is now in the 3rd week of sober living and alive again. Though we can still see his addiction by his manners, he's our family's miracle. We are still cautiously optimistic as he stays in sober living a month at a time, but he has begun living his own life with a new start. What a miracle! He's has a good sponsor that has experienced the same issues as Matthew. Most important, he's working his own program and our family is continuing with the Oasis Treatment Center family meetings to take care of our needs as well. Oasis is everthing you said they were and you are everything Oasis says you are, fantastic!. Our family really appreciates what you do and we have you in our prayers.

Dear Steven,
We hope you are feeling better today. In spite of being sick on Saturday, you did an absolutely MASTERFUL job with our intervention on Carl. God literally gave you your voice long enough to be "an instrument of his peace".
The experience was rewarding for everyone involved---especially Carl. His addictive desire to control seemed to melt away as he responded to the unconditional love that surrounded him. We are so hopeful that he will continue on the path to recovery with the openness, honesty and vulnerability that we witnessed on Saturday.
We can't thank you enough, Steven, for the professionalism, wisdom and heart that you put into your work. We are so hopeful that Carl will take you up on your offer to be a friend in recovery. You have a lot of gifts to share. |
